Ajwain is another interesting microbrand coming out of India and it’s not hard to see why local enthusiasts are into it. Founded by Vikram Narula in 2017, Ajwain has a distinctly thoughtful design sense that is at once provincial and universal. In specific, two Ajwain watches caught my attention. The first is the Kakori 8 Down Centenary Edition which pays tribute to the Kakori train robbery in which Indian freedom fighters robbed a train and went on to become anti-colonial folk heroes. It’s quite a story and I recommend reading more into it if you’re so inclined.
